Occupational Health
This section provides guidance on the TAMU Occupational Health Program,
including animal exposure issues and bloodborne pathogens exposure
control. Registration and referral to Scott & White Occupational Health
are also discussed.
- The Occupational Health Program is provided for all individuals who work in animal facilities or have contact with animals or animal tissue, at no charge to participants.
- Services include medical evaluations, Tuberculosis screenings, Rabies vaccinations and regular titers, Tetanus-Diphtheria vaccinations, medical examinations and treatment, risk assessment and training, educational materials, personal protective equipment, and other appropriate provisions as needed.
- The program is jointly administered by the Comparative Medicine Program and the Environmental Health & Safety Department (EHSD). The primary care provider will be Scott & White Clinic through the Department of Occupational Health and Environmental Medicine, and primary contact with Scott & White Clinic will be through EHSD.
- All individuals potentially exposed to animals must be enrolled in the Occupational Health Program and complete the Texas A&M University Occupational Health Program Enrollment Form found below. Completed forms should be returned to EHSD at MS 4472, or by fax at (979) 845-1348.
